Info: The Anti-Defamation League is a national civil rights and human relations agency, established in 1913 to help fight prejudice, bigotry, and anti-Semitism, and safeguard democratic ideals for all. In Ventura County, the ADL has implemented the Public School Liaison Committee, which is a coalition of parents and community members advocating tolerance and understanding in public schools, through preserving the division between church and state. The League has also initiated Eliminate the Hate program, a collaborative effort of the Ventura County Probation Department and Colston Youth Center to reduce hate crimes through anti-bias educational programs for adults, youth, parents and community members.

Information: Two village campuses, with lush lawns and gardens, dotted with commissioned sculptures and art work, and a beauty salon, gift shop, “Nosh Box,” library, bank and resident post office on each campus. Also a 24-hour emergency call system, with nursing staff on duty around-the-clock, as well as 24-hour security guard service, with security cameras. On-site medical clinics with x-ray and lab services; and dental and eye examination suites. Clinics are staffed by a team of Jewish Home physicians and nurse practitioners certified in geriatric medicine for premiere medical care. Over 15 medical specialty services are also available on-site in our clinics, including cardiology, urology, dermatology, ophthalmology and podiatry. Three kosher meals served daily, with a choice of menu selections, all prepared under the direction of registered dietitians and with rabbinical certification. A variety of stimulating and exciting activities, organized by professional therapeutic recreation staff. Housekeeping and laundry service; dry-cleaning by arrangement. Transportation to local shopping centers, cultural events and other scheduled outings. Rabbinical staff on both village campuses provide spiritual counseling and educational classes, as well as conduct regular religious services and the celebration and observance of all Jewish holidays. The Jewish Home exceeds all state standards for staffing requirements.
