Israel Fallen Soldier’s Day (Yom Ha-Zikkaron)-click HERE for more information.
11 am in Israel: Businesses close, sirens sound throughout the country. Daily activity comes to a stop, and everyone stands silent for two minutes. Even motorists stop and wait by their cars. To date, over 2,205 Israelis have fallen, including over 1,639 terror victims. In Israel, Yom Ha-Zikaron remains one of the most solemn days of the year. By joining together, we not only show solidarity with Israel but we demonstrate in a simple and meaningful way the unity and impact of the Federation community.

GIRL TALK! - a new program of offering of Temple Ner Ami this summer for 7th & 8th grade girls. Under the guidance of a professional, Girl Talk offers a safe setting for young adolescents. The focus of the group is social skills and problem solving and the issues that attend the life of a young teenage girl. An overriding goal is that the girls feel comfortable and confident that someone is listening to them and that peers and a compassionate, professional adult understand them. The long-term goal is to develop a stronger sense of Jewish identity, as well as learning to deal with many of the issues that teens face.
This program was made possible by a grant from the Jewish Federation of Ventura County. No charge for the program and it is open to all 7th & 8th grade girls. For more information, please contact Julia Newman tel. 805.388-3824, or via eMail at educator@templenerami.org.
