Topic: “Facebook: The Ins and Outs of the On-Line Social Networking Utility to Find Relatives and Others” Michael Gallop, JGSCV’s former webmaster, will discuss his success on Facebook and demonstrate how to make your family tree come alive and provide invaluable knowledge about your family! Michael has been working on his genealogy for almost 20 years and has collected a tremendous amount of information about his family. However, it wasn’t until he joined Facebook that he actually developed a relationship with many of his relatives and realized how useful those relationships were in helping him uncover information on his relatives he never would have been able to obtain otherwise. Imagine being able to use your computer to connect with your relatives and have them help you with your research just as if you had interviewed them all personally. Michael is an estate and charitable planner. Following Michael’s presentation, JGSCV Board Members will share their successes with Facebook.
